ATO continuous pumping

I bought my ATO from ATO.com since I've had good luck from them before. Right now Im having some issues with it though. The return pump won't turn off. It continues to siphon water from my reservoir to the sump. I checked the small box that contains the components but there doesn't seem to be any damaged or loose wiring. When it's on, it pumps no matter what and I attempted to lift both float switches but no luck.

Is this an issue with my ATO or pump?

Pump is higher than the reservoir and sump. Pump runs but even when I manually raise the float switches to turn it off.

Sounds like the problem is with the ATO. It should be turning the pump off when the float switch is raised.

do you hear the box clicking when you manually raise and lower the switch?

it also could be that you have the switches turned around, you can correct this by looking on the bottom of the switch and pulling off the little clip then just rotaiting the float around.

your float switches are cooked then or you wired something wrong.

In my case, my ATO bucket was sitting too high and it caused a constant siphon, the pump barely ever ran.

I would bet the relay inside the black box that the cords come from is stuck open. If you take the screws off and tap on it you should be able to get it to switch. You can buy replacement relays from them on their website. http://autotopoff.com/Misc/

This might be the issue. I shook the box and it went off for a second but when I put it back down, it clicked back on. I'll open it up and see if that's the issue.
