I have got a spot open under my stand and I happen to have a tank that fits it perfect but its 16"x16"x18", so there is a lot of water compared to most reserves.

Does anyone put anything in there ato tank?

Im thinking a heater a small powerhead to keep the water from becoming stagnate.

Anything else I could or should put on or in there?

Thanks

That's about 20 gallons. How big is your tank and how much loss do you have per day. I use a 32 gallon brute in my basement and pump water up from there, but I also use 24 gallons of it weekly for a water change. The RO/DI is set to refill it.

I would not add anything other than the ATO pump. The more you have running, the more power you use and the more things that can go wrong. Just my .02

I wouldn't put anything in there as well. (aside from the pump) You'll be filling it up with water maybe once a week anyways. (depending on the evaporation rate) A small dose of some room temperature water isn't going to do any harm either.

I don't think 20 gallons is too big. You will probably be losing a gallon per day, depending on a variety of factors. I run a heater, airstone and small recirc pump in mine, mostly because I make change water with it. Just for ATO no need.
