attaching fuge to main tank

So I have a fuge setup in progress. Its a 55gal which is exactly half of what my main tank is.

My Main tank is stabled out, sustaining life...everything could not be better in it besides a little hair algae.

So my thoughts are this...when setting up the 55gal make sure the temp and salinity are exactly the same before hooking it to the same sump as my DT, because it will eventually be the same water in both tanks once they mix. Maybe im just a worry wort, but will this have a significant impact on the life in my display tank? I only have a little blenny, a big snail, and LR life like crabs and other critters I catch glimpses of scurrying over the rocks. But I dont want to take any casualties if at all possible. I was just kind of thinking it would be the same as big water change.

Also...I have a large dual intake marineland model 400 (I think its a model 400, the biggest one) sump that both tanks will have their overflows hooked into. Since I will be harvesting pods from my 55gal fuge I was thinking of taking the bio-wheel and filters off the fuge's intake side of the sump so it wont kill any of my pods. Anyone agree with this or disagree?
