Can i do this or will it end up cutting through. I really want it to attach to a rubble i have and would rather not squish it between two rocks.
anyone have luck using the rubber band method

This is how I frag my Kenya Tree, lightly wrap around bottom base of rubble piece with Kenya tree branch. Will usually attach within 2 days. Cut rubberband and gently pull off. Great avatar, by the way!

I have never had luck with a rubber band. Either it's too tight, or it's too loose and the current blows the coral off the rock. I pull the frag out of the water, lay it on the plug/rock, and slather the base with a good amount of super glue. I dip it in and out of a cup of system water until the glue sets, and you're good to go.

i have used the rubber band method wit great success on all the soft corals i have had. holds them down to attach and will cut through to frag

I have a Kenya Tree frag in tank right now that I used a rubberband for. I've fragged these from mother coral at least 15 times with rubberband. Average wait time for it to attach was 2-3 days.

I place a long wooden tooth pick through the base fo the coral frag and make sure there is enough of the tooth pick showing on either side of the coral frag. I wrap an enlastic around both sides of the tooth pick and the rock I have for the frag. Leathers and musrooms and other flesh corals can't slip out of this arrangement. In a week to 10 days I remove the elastics and the tooth pick from the frag and it has attached itself to the rock.

I've used the toothpick method. I now cut the bottom out of a plastic cup an push it into my sand bed then put rubble inside of it. When you drop the frag inside, it will be shielded from the flow and will have time to attach without being blown away.

Done this with shrooms, kenya tree, anthelia, xenia

I have to try the Capn' method. I have had 4/10 success with glue, 6/10 with rubber bands, but think the combo is a perfect fit.

...anyone want about 30 kenya frags and a large? Im not even exaggerating. I now have a kenya frag tank in a 10G! (cant flush em, cant get rid of em!) Free kenya trees for all!
