Attaching Splitting Ricordea?

I don't really have any suitable rocks or anything to attach my splitting ricordea to..(it came off of the tiny rock it was on) and I'm not sure what to do with it, would it be fine sitting on the sand or do I need to give it something to attach to? It doesn't look like its doing very well ever since it came off it's rock.

since he detached himself from the rock he is probably not happy where he was placed. He will find a place where he is happy, and it will be fine on the sand. Just a little stressed out.

It ended up upside down somehow, so I flipped it back over on the sand where it was, the weird thing is it had been in the same place since I got it and it was spread out very large for a while and now for whatever reason has decided it's not happy.
