attaching tree sponge, clump sponge feather duster

I just received a red tree sponge, orange sponge tree, red clump sponge and a 4" feather duster. Where (rock, sand, etc.?) should I attach these animals and what is the best way to do it?

The duster can be placed anywhere in sand or rock the sponges however do not like the sand. Anything that can clog them will kill them put them high up in shaded areas in the LR.
