Attack of the killer bristleworms

I apparently have attack-bristleworms. There are a few (at least 5 or 6) that are longer than a foot and about a half inch wide. The first time my dottyback got spiked, I figured it had gone after the bristleworm, but after the second and third time I started keeping better watch. During feedings I watched one go past the pellet and spike my four-line, and tonight I watched one corner my goby. I tried to capture these the conventional way, but it didn't work, they are just too long.I also tried tweezers, but they are as quick as nightcrawlers.

I tried to take a picture of a few of the fish with their bristle-beards, but they don't show up. My dottyback has lost an eye, and my four line has lost a fin.

Any ideas how I can trap and remove these beasts more effectively?

Thanks
Jennifer

Hi,

I've got some big bristleworms in my QT as well. I read that you can try using nylons and shrimp overnite. For whatever reason bristleworms get stuck in the nylons.

Let me see if I can find that article again to provide more details.
