Attack of the killer conus

O.K. from the beginning. A few weeks ago I noticed a snail about the size of a grain of rice crawling around on some rock. After research I found out I was the proud owner of a conus! I plucked him out of the tank as soon as I could. Well, today my wife added two peppermint shrimp and noticed a conus moving in one of the shrimps direction. She pulled him out of the water and then noticed another. Together we have pulled over 15 and one was from a dead peppermint shrimp! So far the other shrimp is out of sight but I don't know if we can keep gaurd all night. Just in writing this we found 4 more!

Since posting we have pulled out even more. We lost count somewhere around 30. Good news is the other shrimp is fine....so far.

Posting this thread where it should have been (inverts) I have found that I do not have cones. I have Volvarina mexicana. The Doctor said I should be cleared up soon. Let's keep this between us o.k. Sorry for any confusion.

Yeah, I was gonna say that I've never heard of anyone getting hitchhiker cones before. Though, I don't know why it couldn't happen. You're lucky you don't have them though. That could've been a nightmare.

I'll take algae over conus any day! It's amazing how similar some of the critters look. I was so sure.
Next I'll confuse a spaghetti worm for a blue ring octopus.
