This probably doesn't help much but it seems to be a very seasonal fish and it usually helps if you request an LFS to get one from you so they can look at the stock available each time they order a shipment in.

They aren't rare but not exactly common, either

I'm glad she could help - they are awesome little fish. I had been trying to get one for a while but it took so long I settled on the ever cheap and easy firefish - which is actually pretty cool. In the future someday I want one but my tank is full now grr >< hehe

I saw they eat algae and I'm all about that - since I cant have a tang or an angel in a 46 gallon bowfront. I've asked her to lock down a tailspot for me too. Thanks for the input on that thread.

You sell your extra tank yet chrisstie? Are you still moving?

I talked to a LFS and they said they had to be careful about how they answer these threads or they would get banned.... that seems a bit unfair doesnt it? How about a LFS forum where we can post questions for area stores to answer freely? They can post what they have in stock each week, specials, and events. What do you say mods?

There`s been a few posts on these guys, and debate about actually eating algae. I can say mine did not eat algae. Sift through it? Yes. One of my favorite fish.

I'm going to have to search for those posts... I was banking on algae cleanup. I do like the way the fish looks though! What did yours eat?

Guess it ate what pods and such could get in sand, and off rock, and in algae. Didn`t eat any prepared foods, except when I fed live brine. Had him in a 55g for 3yrs, lost after lil tank crash. I`m sure I`ll get another when set up new tank.
