Attn: MSX 200-250 owners

Is there any way to make the footprint smaller on these? I'd like to get a MSX 250, but my sump is only a 40 long. Does anyone know if you can mess with the standpipe etc. to make one fit?

I have my Octopus Extreme 250 fit into a 20G sump (30x12x12). It's a bit tight but you will still get about 1/2" clearance on each side. The actual dimension I have for the skimmer section is 20x12. I don't think you'll have problem fitting a MSX250 into a 40 Long sump. MSX200 has a much smaller footprint than MSX250.

On the 250, I know you can add a 90 elbow to the outlet of the left pump and it will fit into a 12" space.

do you mean inlet?

NO. The outlet(of the pump = inlet to the skimmer), so the pump is at an angle to the skimmer and not straight into it. It does lose a little performance this way however.
