August Meeting and Raffle - DON'T MISS THIS!

Not sure how the proceeds from the raffle are going to be split. It is my understanding that part of the proceeds go to STARS and part to the charity organization that Dennis has selected?

I think there needs to be some discussion about what to do with the STARS portion of the proceeds. We do need to work on opening a STARS account with a bank, does this mean that we should apply for non-profit status first or can we open an account and worry about the status later? Justin this is where maybe you can help us with your previous treasurer history. Im wondering how it would work if we open a club account, can there be multiple signers that can draw on the account or does it have to be one person?
 
Oh and Dennis, I really appreciate the fact that you are donating part of the proceeds to the club. Once the new site is up and fully functional you definately deserve one of the top spots in the sponsors section.

I was planning to keep the food simple and get everything at Sam's Club. I am hoping that we sell enough food to cover the cost of the food plus put some money in the club fund. I don't mind footing the bill, I just won't go crazy and buy alot. I would like to see how it turns out though. There will be alot of ppl and I'm sure someone will get hungry or least I hope they do.

As always, everyone is welcome to bring their beverage of choice. I plan to have sodas, tea and lemonade for sale.
 
I'm joking, I'm joking!!! Nerd is just the term I have always used. I never refer to myself as a geek, that's the only difference....my interpretation.

You have to actually be about to keep a fish to be consider a nerd much less a geek. :)
 
sorry for the late response, but i believe we can open a business account but that will cost us for checks and such. i don't believe they care if we are non-profit or not, because most checking is free, or at least the account i have set up for the other organization is.
I beleive that we are so young, and broke, that cash is king and a good reciept book will benifit us more than a checking account. of course with this method, transparancy is crucial. I want to be audited by any member of the board as often as they seem fit.
 
many organizations do not officially file for non profit status, as it can be a pricey and long process. you are already considered an organization and can also be considered an unofficial non profit org. ive done a lot of reading on NPOs
 
Justin I am okay with it if you want to handle your job in that manner. I can only speak for myself but I think the other officers will agree with me on this.

i can bring some stuff for the snack bar. i got a few tables, and chairs. i also have a big *** cooler. And i can buy hotdogs, buns and chips.

That is a good question!!!! I hope so but do not know. What time is the start time guys? Its starting to sound like a good meeting. I currently dealing with two jobs and a few cute blonde's at the moment!!! :)

The official brain damaged from sittin in the heat in Justin's truck in the car seat "rooster" is here at home with me where he belongs. I will put him in my car so he can sit in the heat for a few more days until the meeting.
