August meeting

Rob,

Thanks for the warning I may borrow a fan from work and I will keep the slider open while I am painting. Think the AC would help or just blow bad fumes around?

Thanks again.

I think the AC would just blow it around, a fan blowing air out the slider, and a window open in another room to let air in would be my preference.
And a bag-o-carbon in the water flow would be good:D too

Ok, so we have four stops on the tour next Saturday - Rob, Craig, Shane, and myself. Any others?

And remember you don't have to be a stop on the tour to tag along! It can be quite informative seeing how others have handled the various aspects of reefkeeping.

Bbq wise I was thinking about serving chicken and burgers from the grill. Sound good? You can always bring something special to cook for yourself if you'd like. I'm sure we can find grill space.

Should we do a potluck format where everyone brings a dish or would you prefer I just handle the food and beverages and expect people to contribute cash at the door?

Ken as new pres. It is your duty to supplie steak and lobster at the first bbq you host. Did you not read the by laws? I myself am good with bringing cash and leting someone else deal with the food. But Let me know I can just as easy stop at the store on the way. P.s. Ken I like my steak medium. Ha ha

I'm working on bringing a new guy to the club and he is in RP i have not seen his tank but from what i hear it is pretty good....

you just reminded me -- i want to bring someone to the club too. i know i am new, but would it be alright if a friend joined us? he is from santa rosa and has some really cool tanks!

Great news on the tour front. Jason has offered to let us visit him so the tour will start at his place on Saturday 8/15 at 11am.

We will continue from there to Rob, then Craig, Shane and ending at my place in Petaluma for meeting, food, drink, raffle and a photo demo for those who are interested.

I haven't heard a strong consensus either way so I'll handle the food. I'd hate for Dale to not get his steak and lobster. (Just substitute ground beef for steak and chicken legs for lobster claws...)

I'll provide burgers, chicken, salad, chips, water, soda, beer and ale.

Please bring $10 each ($5 for kids) to help me recoup expenses. And if anyone has some fine wine they'd love to share, please bring it along as well.

I look forward to seeing everyone a week from today!

Hello winereef. Please come to one of our Wine Country Reefers club meeting. We're having a tank tour and bbq this month. See the thread in our forum for details

Ken

Yes I really wanted to come this weekend (but apparently the wife had pre-booked me on a weekend in San Francisco with her)
Anyway, I look forward to come at the future meetings and possibly host one too.
