auqapod lighting question

I have the aquapod 24 gal with the three light option. Do I keep the acnetic (darkest light) on at all times or can I turn it off?

I could be wrong but was advised to leave the led light on 24 hours a day, the blue actinic for 13 and the daylight for 11.

I'm assuming that the actinic comes on an hour before the daylight and runs an hour after the daylight turns off. So this is the schedule that I've been keeping. It will be easier when my timers get here... *sigh*

a little over 8 weeks. I tried, on store advice, a piece of coral but it melted away..polyp? It still has some buds, but, I thought it might be a lighting thing after reading a lighting question on another forum. All water perms are great and everyone's happy in there.

I'm a newbie too... so don't take what I'm saying as gospel. It's just what I've read. I figured one of the vets would chime in with their response.

What kind of coral do you have? Again from reading, they all have different lighting requirements. It's my understanding that with the standard lighting (mine are power compacts it looks like), you have to stick with low light loving varieties.

Are you testing your calcium levels?
