i have an opportunity to get either both are juveniles arround 1.5 inch would be joining my potters angel and sharknose goby

Still wondering when Chaetodon species went from "coral eaters" to "risky" in hobby terms :)

are they more prone to pickng than say a tinkeri, burgesse or banks? will the fact that they are juveniles help as far as training them to feed on man made foods vs polyps

None of those mentioned are safe (you can include Mitratus in that group). auriga or racoon butterfly are less safe.

sounds like ill just save my money then thanks guys, sunburst anthias sounds better for my corals anyway lol

is there any of the butterflies that are safe or safer for a reef tank? i love all the butterflies and would love to have them in the tank but i don't want to risk my corals. i had a chaetodon semilarvatus and he was eating on sps and lps within 24hrs of entering the tank.

None are totally safe. Pyramids may be among the most safe.

Copperbands are very reef safe in my experience. Just be sure you find one eating well and include plenty of meaty mysis in your feedings. Mine doesn't touch anything, they key is keeping them well fed.

I've had 2 Klein's and 1 occasionally nipped but if he was well fed he didn't bother anything--I usely overfeed though.
