Most of the shrimp gobies I have owned in the past all seem to share a common propensity for jumping out of my tank or into the overflow. If they survived they soon stopped as they became more comfortable i the tank
I now use a cover made of 1/4 inch clear mesh, no more chance of jumping.
I recently picked up a rather large aurora goby (I'd say about 4 inches long) who refuses to stay out of my external overflow. He just won't settle in.
I have a c2c along the entire back of the tank that leads to my external box. I keep gutter guard around the dursos so there is no risk of him ending up in the sump. It is getting to be a pain fishing him out of there everyday though.
In terms of blocking the C2C I can't imagine anyway of doing it that won't compromise the surface skimming effect I have right now which I don't want to compromise.
Does anyone else have a similar experience? Advice? I do NOT have a pistol shrimp in there with him. Do you think one will make him feel more at home by building him a burrow?
