I got this aussie elegance that opened fine for the first 3 days and now it is very deflated...curious thing is that my toadstoll leather that is very close to it...is not opening also!

Can it be a chemical war between both? What can i do to solve?

Water params:
Ph 8.2
Nitrates 0
Phosphates 0.08
Calcium 420
Alk 8-9
Mag 1250
Salinity 1.026

Red sea max 34 gallons

Whats your temp? Ive read that ECs like it a little cooler 75 or so. I myself have an EC that is starting to recede, and Ive had it about 4-5 days myself. He was doing fine but I turned my temp down a couple degrees and not hes receded a bit. Im going to give it another day and if he doesnt started acting better Ill bump my temp back up to where it was and go from there.

If I had known about the trouble these guys are I never wouldve gotten him but hes in my tank now so Im going to try to keep him alive the best I can.

Im not sure if thats the problem or not, just something Ive read. Hopefully someone can figure out the problem and we can both keep our guys alive.

I doubt chemical warfare. I'd do a good water change since you have 2 corals not opening. Also, lighting? Or placement in tank issues?

Have this leather for almost 1 year with no problems...elegance got into tank 3 days ago...2 days extended and now retracted...

Did a 20% water change yesterday...no change so far

In a fight between an EC and a toadstool, the EC will win every time. From my understanding ECs are close to nems when it comes to stinging power, they will win almost every fight that get into.

Mine is doing better as well. Only time will tell I guess. Now I just gotta hope my pistol shrimp didnt hurt my clam to much and is going to be ok.

I have 2 of them in my 150 reef. Keep them AWAY from anything you value. They are very aggressive, and will even sting YOU (doesnt hurt though, but a little irritating IME)

They are stunning when fully open. Put them at the bottom out of the flow and in mod to lower light. I feed mine mysis every other day. They eat like pigs. Direct flow is not the Elegance's idea of a good time. Keep it out of direct flow and hard light.

Mine are amazing but when they are happy they get HUGE during the day.
