aussie gold tip wall hammer and going rate?

just want to make sure this is indeed a gold tip hammer and not just a brown hammer. Very hard to tell the difference. It was sold to me as an aussie gold hammer from a local vendor and paid $140 did i pay too much?

I'm no expert but I look at it this way: if I'm happy with the piece and the price I paid for it, then I didn't pay too much.

That's a nice healthy looking hammer. Did you not get a chance to see it before paying? Because I kinda don't understand the question. If you didn't think it was gold and worth the price, you should've call out the vendor on it or just not buy.

I will say there are varying degrees of gold or any other color in this hobby, but anyways I do see some gold your hammer. It'll probably pop more in bluer lighting.

I've never actually seen a gold hammer in person before so i don't know how gold it's supposed to be, I just got it because I like wall hammers and it looked really healthy at the store, kind of an impulse buy. Currently he has been in my 5g tank for a month and looks very healthy. I got a 50g tank that just finished cycling. I don't know if I should put him in or wait, he really seems happy in the 5g pico any suggestions? Tank has been cycling for 6wks and no ammonia or nitrites, just a massive diatom bloom.

As long as you have good AND stable water parameters, I don't see why not.
