Aussie Gold Torch not flourishing

Bought and Aussie gold torch coral and acclimated it for a little over an hour. It was doing great them slowly started shrinking and color looked bleached. Tested the water levels and everything looks good. Could it be the lighting or water flow? It has been moved around quite a bit trying to find the right spot. It has gotten some color back and opened more but still nothing like it was. Any tips?

Torchs' need low flow and low light, ESPECIALLY when first introduced to a new tank. I keep all of my Euphyllia either on the bottom or right near it in gentle sway area. I get great PE out of all of them, even on new ones.

What kind of lighting do you have? Could be it's too bright.

Your sg is too low needs to be brought up to 1.025 or 1.026 and your PH is a tad low but could be a daily swing

If you truly have 0 nutrients in the tank that could be an issue. Some nitrates and phosphates are good.

I would just give it time. As long as they are healthy to begin with, these seem like they could be kept in a mud puddle and do fine.

I got a branch with a couple heads that was in another guys tank and he said they never grew for 3 years but also were never disturbed. In my tank thay have done great and have doubled in 2 months time. My nitrate is around 5ppm and phosphate is low but detectable. The guy i got them from believed in "perfect" WC but i believe they need nutrients to survive. Mostly phosphate but at a low level. Too high and the phosphates discourage growth

I agree with you on this, especially with LPS and softies..
