Alright New Years Res,
To keep and update a journal about my nano.

Well it wasnt all my Idea....
Some of these pics are from previous threads I've posted.

It all started in August 2006, when my GF bought me a tank.

Inital setup

Tank specs:

80lt Capacity

Curved glass
55 watt Aquaone heater
PC lights 36w 50/50 10k and actinic
twin extraction fans in hood
Filtration by Sponge, Chem and bio balls

After one week and a waterchange

All my LR was fully cured before adding to the display tank, this is how I have been buying it. As such there wasnt much of a change in test readings, over the first 6 weeks. The salinity was up a frag 1.029, this was attributed to the water supplied by my LFS.
So we did some freshwtaer top offs to bring it back down. As I dont have an RO unit I ran the tap water thru a Brita filter.
Eureka... Algae bloom.

After 9 weeks I couldnt wait, I wanted a friend.

Yes he is an Orange-tail Damsel, only recommended because he was a hardy, beginers fish.

The tank stayed in this format for another 2 months, when I decided to add a basic clean up crew. Enter TIM the Turbo snail and a hermit crab.

Feeding time at the zoo.

Well they werent doing a good enough job, so I went and got some Nerite snails and another hermit crab, but unfortunatly they didnt survive the trip home. About a week before Xmas I returned to my LFS and picked up 2 Cerith Snails and 2 hermit crabs.

Along came boxing day, but again I was bored with my tank. Especially after ogling what Louist had achieved with winning Ntotm in Nov. So out came the big chunk of LR on the left and BANG went the hammer. A quick trip down to another LFS, another turbo snail and some Zoas later I got this.

After a day or two I noticed I had also scored a green Mushroom

A number of Featherdusters, 2 chitons, a bristle worm.

Heres my new Zoas.

So thats where I'm at, next upgrade my lighting. Maybe move little Chopper (damsel) to another tank. And learn how to take better pics.

Any and all Ideas are welcome.
I will update this thread as things change or get added.

Looks like its taking shape!

I've seen people cram an extra light into the hood. If you DIY the hood, you will be able to keep more corals :)

Nice zoanthids by the way. Shame you are not in Sydney, else I'll trade a few polyps with you.

Thanks for looking,
I have sent an email to nanotuners in the USA in regards to upgrading the lights.
I wish I could trade some polyps with you, you have some fantastic corals.
