I'm looking to purchase an auto feeder and want to also purchase the glass ring feeder as well.

Can you some tell me where one can find these glass feeding rings?

thanks for your help!

Great question. I guess i have no specific reason or purpose for glass.

do you have any good recommendations for a good and effective feeding ring?

I've not yet decided on an auto feeder.

1. Google
2. Shopping
3. (Type) Feeder Ring Aquarium.

BINGO

:D

PS - Auto feeders scare me. ESPECIALLY on a reef tank. They are highly likely to fault and some stage. Either clog or worse, over feed.

your making me nervous now. I need an auto feeder for future vacations. I want to get one soon so i can practice with it.

How long do you go away for? If I was going for a week or less, Id consider not worrying too much and feeding up a little before hand. Maybe throw a few bags of pods in before you go away.

Fish can survive, they'll start to act more natural and scavenge. As long as you have relatively plump fish, anything under a week I wouldn't use an auto feeder.

Ehim feeder has worked best for me.
It is pretty well built and reliable.
I agree with practicing with it before hand.
Tricky part is to adjust the food rations. I think using the feeder to feed small amounts twice a day works better than feeding a large amount once a day. In order to secure things, decide the level of opening that you want to keep on the food window and then stick a small piece if duct tape on the side of the slider, so that it secures the window in one place.
I was gone for 3 weeks and everything thing was A okay when i came back. I did ask a friend to check on the tank once ir twice a week though. But i don't trust anyone with feeding my fish so i left the feeding part to ehim.

Feeding ring itself.... not a big science to it. Internet is full of fancy expensive rings to cheap diy under 5 dollar rings. Just look them up and see what you like. A glass decanter is an idea that came to my mind but haven't tried in my self.

+1
Especially on the duct tape bit. I have done everything exactly this.
