Auto Top off help

I recently got a JBJ auto top off and just got it set up. Has anyone discovered a way to disable the alarm on it so that every time the pump kicks on to top off the tank it doesn't go off? It is about to drive me insane. Someone help please.

there's an alarm? strange I never hear anything. I only get a yellow warning LED.

if you open the case there is a switch that you have to turn off

Yep there is an alarm. It is loud too. Any clue what the switch would look like. It must go, the alarm every time the top off kicks in ( every 20 mins or so) is making me insane.

go to the jbj website, it has pdf with pictures for both 1) disabling alarm (older models you pull out a diode on right, middle in back; new models there is a switch labeled 'alarm) that you just switch off) and 2) adjusting the 'max time' that the jbj is allowed to be on before automatically switching off (safety feature on top, middle - i keep mine on max time - which is about 14 minutes..).

just google 'jbj alarm disable' or something like that to find it.. hope that helps..

Semi, hope u don't mind me hijacking your thread. Since everyone here owns this unit, I figure it's the best place to ask.

I'm looking at this thing and it seems like it doesn't have a safety feature in case the float switch get stuck..

It has a "Min" and a "max" level in "B" mode.

I see that they put a lot of effort into designing it to protect the pump. But they never thought about protecting the floors if the first switch get stuck. Shouldn't we have a 2nd float switch that's "Always On" @ the top of the Sump so water doesn't go past it?

Right now, it just make sense to use "Mode A" in example 2 on the manual. It doesn't even make sense to have Mode B.

From their website think it indirectly answers your question:

Q: Why does my A.T.O. automatically shut off after a few minutes of operation even though the water level has not reached the float sensor?
A: All A.T.O. Controllers have a factory "Float Fail-Safe" duration time period of 3 minutes and 45 seconds of operation before power to the pump is turned off. The Pump LED will glow but power to the pump will not be turned on. This feature was designed to act as a safety mechanism in the unlikely event the float sensor(s) failed or if something was to get stuck in between the sensor(s). You will have to reset the float sensor(s) to restart the controller.

boy should I learn how to read! Thanks I was getting ****ed off when my ATO stopped when stop b4 it reached to the correct level. LOL
