Auto Top Off Questions..

I know, another thread about ATO's, but I need to get something together kinda quick and need some questions answered before I leave for vacation. First, is the JBJ A.T.O. unit worth the price? Also, what pump do I need to run the water up to my tank? I have a few MJ1200's, would one of them push it from the floor up to the top of my tank? Also, is there a better setup I could look into? I need to get everything in working order before the first of July. Thanks again!

Quick auto-topoff before vacation sounds like a catastrophe waiting to happen...get a friend to watch the tank and top it off until you get back. Believe me that more tanks get tanked when people leave town relying on gadgetry....

I am going to have my brother come by every other day to feed/check on everything, just want to get this set up so its less work for him.

Auto topoff can also be called auto disaster. have him take care of the topping off, it is much safer than pumping gallons of freshwater into the tank and killing everything.

I don't have an issue with my ATO?? In fact I love it!! I'm lazy I admit, but no issue's here. However I would agree that you might want to research the topic and ask some questions here and take your time when attepting to set one up. I think you'd find yourself in a world of hurt if you toss one on and then leave. Slow down, and take your time. Rush nothing in this hobby or pay a hrady price for it.
