Auto Top Off Set Ups

Can anyone show me pictures of your auto top off systems or if you have any diagrams could you please post them. We are about ready to start working on one and would like to see some of the set ups.

here is a pic of my fuge. ato not very clear. on the return pump side is my float switch and on the back is the drip counter. i use an aqua medic ato. there is a 1/4" hose that runs to a 5gal bucket with a lid that stores my ro/di top off water. seems to work well for me

I also recommend autotopoff.com

I saved $20.00 & went with aquahub.com

Works great but the other is already assembled & the float bracket is much nicer. Otherwise they're pretty much the same components.

Check out both websites for install pics. You'll need a feed pump for most systems. I use an aqualifter ($12.00). It's dead silent but is only good if your storage container is near your sump.

hi-theresa, this is my set up, i have a tunze osmolator and its a good bit of kit, basically the first resevoir is full of fresh pure ro-di water and it pushes into the second resevoir which is a sealed system with kalkwasser, this then goes directly to the sump, it has a safety switch as well incase the level rises too much and a timer

das - your $10 setup may work but what happens if the float cracks/fails?
the same thing that would happen if the float fails on my furnace humidifier, a flooded basement. And we all know someone that has flooded their basement because of the humidifier.

das - I'm sorry but that does not make it good for a saltwater environment especially with so many using kalk now. It's pretty easy to see a future issue. Also many of those floats have brass parts which = copper.

Here is a picture of my sump, the long skinny part is my return. I have 2 small ledges there for float switches. I run an ac3 with a IO breakoutbox which allows me to connect float switches. the lower float switch turns a mag 250 which has been plumbed to run 1/4" RO line from a 20 gal high tank of RO water up through the floor and into the return. the second float switch is a fail safe just in case the first one ever fails, I also have put a max change statement on the mag 250 so that it can only run for a maximum of 3 or 5 minute i forget what i have it set at now.

Sweet sump. I like the overflow ladder thingy. Not sure what to call it but I'm going to add that to my refuge section.

yes thanks the fuge sits at 13 " height while the skimmer is 10" and the return is 8". I did not want niagara falls happening between the fuge and return so i used the eves trough idea. They look like they are suspending out perpendicular to the fuge wall but in reality they will be on a 45 to act more like a trough

you can purchase float switches for less than 10 dollars from aquacave or aquahub? They are made by chigaco sensor. all plastic. i bought two of them the M8000 model

the valve I'm using is all plastic, FW only and with evap gets ~2g of ro/di water through it a day for a good flush.
