Auto Top off Unit

is there any that can be attached to a container???? or do they all have to be attached to a water source?????

I have seen some containers from Kent that seem to be for dosing for corals although I was thinking can this be used for a water top off???

I have a seperate 5 gallon reservoir that feeds my auto top off. I bought it at Lowe's and it's very similar to an empty salt bucket, made of HDPE. My auto top off is from www.autotopoff.com ;)

Feeding your ato from the RO/DI water line can be a potential hazzard for flooding. I like having a seperate reservoir to limit the amount of top off water so in case of failure only a small amount of fresh water would be dosed.

not sure I fully understand you question, but if you talking about a means of topping off you tank in order to maintain salinity , I at one time used a tall kitchen trash can, along with a MJ1200 and a LifeReef float switch

I agree with using seperate container for water storage. It was recommended to me to use a container typically used for storing wrapping paper rolls. Its slim and hold 15 gal or more of water. Then, just install a float switch to a dosing pump and presto! I have a timer on my pump for added measure in case the float switch fails.

Then you can just run RO\DI water in to fill your container.
