auto top off

does anyone know a auto top off that i can use with out drilling holes in sump.ive been told i have to drill a hole in my sump .im going to use it on my ro system to my sump or ive got a fifty gallon water container would that be better

What brand ATO are you looking at? There are several types that would not require drilling. I have one that uses suction cups to attach to inside of the refugium. Here are a couple of examples:

If you click on the link in my first post i use the Ultralife Float Switch listed first. It is simple to use and reasonably priced. It has worked with out any problems for over a year so far.

I just got the JBJ ATO but so far it has performed flawlessly. I like it because it has redundancy feature (two float valves) that will keep your tank from over-filling with top off water.

Don't connect your RODI directly to your sump. That's just begging for a flood.

Run the rodi via Float Valve to a Storage container. Then have your top off contacted to a pump that will pump the water from the storage container to the sump.
