Automated/bluetooth/wifi alert systems

I'm curious what all exists or what you're all using in terms of automated systems. My 40g only had the redsea 50w lights, but it would alert me when they went down (such as a power outtage).

the 425 has the same setup (3 x 90w though), and a number of new devices i'm learning such as the nero powerheads, redsea reef mat (with bluetooth capabilities), etc.

I'm thinking it would be nice to have a temperature alert, ideally sent to my phone if possible. any advice there? After I get my protein skimmer set up, the reef mat synced to my app, and the autodoser figured out, I might venture into some cooler test equipment too. although precursory glances at some of these automated systems look pretty expensive.

I use an Inkbird controller Inkbird Aquarium Temperature Controller Series Digital Thermostat that my heater is plugged into. It keeps the temperature of the water within half a degree F` and sends an alert as well as sounds the alert if the temp goes above or below the threshold you set

I'm glad you brought that up. I was looking at the inkbird and I'm honestly confused to as how it can control the heater. does it just turn it off/on as the temp dictates? It looks like the ITC-306A is the model to go with for heating/heating + wifi capabilities. whereas the 308 is designed for both heating and cooling.

I have the inkbird on my 480 and it's doing its job. My tank is in the garage office and while there is insulation it tends to get pretty cold. I just bought a 600w titanium heater to go along with three other 300w I have plugged into the inkbird and now the temp is good hovering around 77. You can actually plug in more heaters and fans just use extensions.

It also allows you to plug in 2 heaters for redundancy
perfect solution
Hydros controllers will do everything you desire.
I will look into them, I'm not familiar. thanks for the tip!

I'm going to order the inkbird today. our local temp dropped to 32f and I noticed I lost a degree on the tank this morning. it was closer to 74.5/75f vs the 76f I had it up to. No bueno. I'm going to double the wattage as well.
