Automatic Water Change?

My buddy and I were talking about creating a nps reef tank, but we didn't want to do constant water changes because of the super nutrient filled water. So we got to thinking, since I'm too lazy to make a diagram, I'll do my best to explain. So we have a tank, lets say a drilled 50 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump, nothing unusual with this tank except for a hole drilled at the water line of the sump. Within the sump, there's a JBJ ato. The sensor for the ato is right at the bottom of the hole in the sump. The hole (basically and overflow), will lead to the house or buildings draining system. Now, the main pump will be on a timer, set to shut off once a day for 5 minutes. Since the pump will be off, normally the sump would hold the water coming from the return line and overflow, but in this case we have a hole at the water line, so all that water drains with the house's sewage. Now when the pump turns back on, the ato will take care of replacing the water so the tank doesn't run dry. (The ato is salt water, not r/o). I can't really think of any problems with this design, except for having to replace new salt water in the ato bucket.

What do you guys think?
Matt
