Well with the addition of the two clams from the meeting, I have discovered that my bi-color has decided he might like them as a chowder. I will by attempting to catch him out with a trap this week and when I get him he will be up for swap. This fish is over two years old very healthy never had ich in my tank and is picture perfect. I really hate to get rid of him but I have the clams and they were in my long term goals. I bought him and was told, that he didn't eat SPS or Clams (and to be fair he probably didn't at that time). Anyway my main concern is to get him in a good home, he probably should have a 40 or better as he is about 3-4 inches long and 2-3 tall. He would be big enough to be a centerpiece fish in a 40-50 gallon tank. He should do fine with Softies and LPS as he hasn't even looked at mine. In this picture you will see him over on the left side of the tank. For size comparisions thats about a 2 year old purple tang in the center of the tank above the tang is a 4 head hammer coral. Just let me know, ever who wants him will need to be able to meet on a couple of hours notice as I will not have a place to put him other than a bucket with air bubbler.

again I will consider a swap for about any coral that I don't have.

Ouch, Lets see if anybody is heading that direction and will make a drop, If so I will send him that way.

yeah i had to trade one away also because he was eating brain corals :(
love the fish though
if he is not taken i'll look for a home

Ok guys I have him caught up and need to get him in another tank. If someone wants to meet me in Jasper today they can have him, if not I will have to take him to one of the LFS.

Nitroq2,

Too bad the bi-color turned out to be a problem for you, but I understand. I had a flame that would do the same thing.

BTW, You have a great looking tank!

Jim

Yep, he is in his new home :) he is a Beautiful Fish! I turned the lights out to let him adjust to the tank until tomorrow. I will post a picture of him after the lights come on:)

Thank You So Much Allen!

Allen-

If that was my old fish, so sorry he did not work out! I had clams and SPS that he never bothered!

Mary-he was a great fish! I hope he treats your tank well!

Yep, that was in fact your fish. Like I said in all fairness at that time he probably didn't eat sps. I think maybe he took a liking to something I had and it got him started and he just went on a spree. Also I read as they get older the problems are more likely. But I must agree I hated to see him go, as he was pretty much a second centerpiece in my tank, and everyone always commented on him. I was more concerned with the transfer than anything. As I am sure he was stressed I was moving him with a time constraint because all my corals were out of my tank. So maybe Mary will update us and say all is well. The other fish are still in the tank as a matter of fact let me show a picture or two. The mandarin is starving cant you tell just look at the pic below  He eats more than the lawnmower, he is constantly picking at the rocks. And the Candy Stripe Hogfish is the owner of the tank, second to the tang everyone in the tank takes orders from him.

I still haven't took a pic. He comes out very little. I can see him peeking out and as soon as I walk in the room back he goes into the rocks. He looks fine though. He has ate some. What kind of food does he like? ...besides SPS and Clams...sorry I couldn't help it..lol I hope he has a change of heart and just wants food.

Your Mandarin looks like mine FAT!

(hijack alert)

what do you do to keep your mandarins so happy? i can't wait to get one, but my tank is only 7 months old, and i know its not ready.

i've been thinking about building a rubble pile in the back corner, and then seeding it with pods.

thoughts?

Mine seems to eat mostly pods. I have a 30 gallon sump with a fuge and 4" deep sandbed, with a few liverocks and a ton of chaeto, pods seem to love it and they constantly overflowed back into the return and pushed out in the main tank. I have alot of smaller rock under my stack as well so he has plenty of places to hunt food. I can't take the credit though he came to me fat like this from alafish, she had the best looking fish I had seen. AS for feed Mary the Bicolor when he wasn't chomping 500 dollars worth of sps frags usually ate anything flake I put in the tank as well as frozen mysis. He never really got into the pellet thing. If you want him to come out feed him in the morning and feed mysis.

Way cool great shots Mary I feel a whole lot better now. Very nice tank by the way Mary. And if I must say so myself you now have a nice looking centerpiece fish. Did he start eating, if not soak a little mysis in some garlic and that should kick him off. Thanks again for the update.

Yes he ate some Flake this morning , and tonight I fed Mysis with some Cyclop-eeze and he ate great! :) He does make a GREAT Centerpiece Fish! Thanks Again Allen :)
