Avast Marine Skimmers?

Is anyone running an Avast Marine skimmer? I am thinking about purchasing the CS3 cone but I've only found one detailed review anywhere online. There doesn't seem to be much on RC....

I'm trying to understand material quality, foam production, experience, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a Cs2 skimmer. It was an awesome skimmer. Only reason I got rid of it was because I downsized systems. Materials are good quality. The only downfall I could see is with assembly. If you take your time follow the directions it can look professional. mine had the PSK 1000 pump. Very quiet and excellent bubble production.

Most people who have their products are satisfied with them. I had plans on being one of those but their lack of communication made me go in other directions, I had planned on an Avast setup, reactors, skimmer and CaRx but after several inquiries on their website, and no response to any, I decided they may not be a good choice for me. If you do a search on Avast you should be able to pull up several threads on them, and I am not sure I ever saw a bad review of the skimmers.

Their skimmers are amazing from everyone I've talked to. They are however moving more towards specialized equipment and devices capable of upgrading other branded skimmers. Whether you get an avast skimmer or not, I reccomend you look into their swabbie and skimmate lockers which are upgrades attachable to practically any make of skimmer. Awesome stuff, I pick mine up tommorrow! Also I'm not discounting your experience sirreal63, but in mine the Avast Captains are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and respond quickly to questions. I'd rate the company 11 out of 10 based on service so far.

I have known these guys since the beginning. The original factory was 3 mikes from my house. The skimmers are excellent. I have been running a CS2 skimmer since before it was ever called that.. I have been really impressed with the amount of R&D they put into the products. I must have seen at least a dozen variations of their ozone reactor. I have also been very impressed with the support. These guys were hobbyists long before they started the business.

Dig around online. It is hard to find a bad report anywhere, and they have grown into a very substantial company.
