Avatar question

How do you make a image from a camera smaller than 8k to be used as an avatar? I can't get one smaller than 11k by cropping and resizing and using the worst pic quality on my camera.

depending on what editing program you are using there should be a spot to resize & change the resolution. My avitar is 100 x 100 .

I've been trying to resize, and change the resolution, but i can't get it smaller than 9.5kb now unless it so extremely small....

go into a photoshop program and cut the photo for only what you want to see then resize it accordingly.. mine was a full shot of the anemone, but i only used what i wanted from the photo..
