I thought all dragonets buried at night.
I guess not. I just assumed since my scooters do, they all did. They look so vulnerable just sitting there on the sand. Thanks for setting the record straight, Steve.
so i finally got around to take a pic of my mandarins at sleep..
every night they get together in this corner of the tank, male always on the left and female on the right...

I would like any more info on your pair of mandarins if you could please share..i.e. do you have trouble feeding, do they eat frozen, any tank info.
Reason I ask is I have a female in my 180 that is doing fine but wont eat frozen, only pods. I would like to get a male but I am concerned about food supply.
great looking pair and thanks for sharing !
Honestly I'm really lucky with my male. Every time I saw a mandarin at the lfs they looked over stressed. But one day I went in and saw him. When I came to the tank he immediately flared his fins and started pecking the glass at me so I knew he was mine. So input him my 3 month old RSM130D I was kinda worried about not having enough pods for him but after 2 weeks in the tank he started eating mysis off my dendros.
So then 2 months later I ordered a female, with the hope that she'll follow the male and eat mysis also. 3 months later and she still hasn't. But she doing fine.
How can you tell the sex of the two mandarins? Ive always wondered, I have one, and we call it a him. lol I hope its a him. I would love to get two in my tank though.
Hey Thanks so much, Im going to check it out when i get home.Males have a pointy needle like bone on its top fin that extends and females have a rounded one one with no point.
