AZNO3 Leaking on arrival

Ok i ordered some AZNO3 from marine depot and when it showed up today it was in a bag but leaking. Is it ok to use it? I know it is supposed to be stored in the fridge and after it is opened it has a shelf life. Would it go "bad" during shipping if it was leaking?

Anyone? I am debating whether I should be calling marine depot before they close today to request a replacement.

I would definitely ask for a replacement. I'm not real sure what's in that product but I'm lead to believe there is some sort of alcohol for carbon dosing. If that's the case it may have lost it's potency if that alcohol has evaporated.

Well all I can say now is that Marine Depot has pretty good customer service... 30 mins after I called them I got a shipping notification for a new bottle.

FWIW, I might also use what you still have, although it might not be better than vinegar even when fresh.

Ya the marine depot guy I talked to said use it but it will be inert before too long and they sent the new one.

I like things with fancy names... Vinegar is just so boring lol.

In all seriousness I did read your entire article on the subject before deciding to try the azno3. I'm really interested to see if it will enhance skimmer performance as advertised.
