I enjoy watching our 55 gal reef tank after the lights go out. I sit very close with a red flashlight so as to not disturb anything. Tonight I saw an unusually large number of swimmers. I looked closer to find one on the blue legged crabs having babies. It would come partly out of its shell and let the babies out. The night feeders look really happy about now. It is difficult to watch "newborn" babies become food, but that is just how the food chain works. What a wonderful experience to have it right here in my living room. I have heard that they spawned when the moon was full, and I guess this one was a couple of days late.
