Baby Undulated Pics

Ok, mine at about this size is now going hard at my humahuma twice his size. I have seen these attacks and they would be deadly if the undulate was any larger. Much more speed and agility than the worst African Cichlids when attacking.

Some updated pictures. Really filled out, no more hollow cheeks and quite a belly on it now.

Looks awesome!! I've wanted one for so long and am considering one now for an empty 28 bowfront I have. How active is he?

Very. Always out exploring the tank and biting the mag-float and powerhead. Still scared of me, fast movements send it scurrying back to the cave.

Decided to do something a little different with the 'scape.

I've always liked the artificial look of a fish in a glass box, so I'm giving this a shot.

Those are real coral skeletons and I know they'll get gunked up, is there a way to clean them short of hot water and a toothbrush?

Gets fed several different types of pellets daily, about once a week gets some leftover shrimp or silversides from the lionfish feeding.

The coral skeletons have been really easy to clean, I just remove them once a week and rinse them in hot water. I bought a few more for my other tanks because I like the way they look.

What's funny is that you can spend $30 on fake coral skeletons at the pet store, but get the real thing for the fraction of the price at souvenir shops down here.

You can bleach the skeletons with bleach, and then declorinate them. Eventually the algae will win though ;)

Nice fish, but definitely not my cup of tea on the decor. But hey everyone is different :D

Is it normal for the black spot on the tail to disappear? It has faded steadily over the past few months and is now totally gone. Maybe it's a mood thing?

Gave the tank a pretty thorough cleaning today including removing and scrubbing the rock. There isn't a lot in there to begin with, but the undy absolute freaks out without a hiding spot. So I dropped in one of those generic logs you can buy at any number of pet stores.

Got everything back into place, and the undy won't let go of the log. Refuses. Every time I try to get the log out, it rushes to the log and locks in. Took the log out, put it in a bucket...no sale. Hangs out in the branches and just lurks...peeking out from behind the branches only showing one eyeball.

So it gets to keep the log. Not much for saltwater decor, but a happy fish is a happy fish.
