:wave:I am glad to see the Pittsburgh Marine Aquarium Socity is still around. Just getting back into the hobby after about 10 years away. I see some things have changed but a lot is still the same. Is there a website I can visit to see a membership/meeting schedule?
I just purchased a 90g with about 125lbs of live rock and about a 2-3 inch sandbed. I has a 4 x 54 lighting system that I will be adding another 4 x 54 system to in the near future. I plan on making it a reef mostly LPS and Soft Corals.
Local to the Pittsburgh area where are some quality LFS? Went to Elmers and was disapointed!! Went to Wet Pets and the staff was very nice and assisted my with getting my first few fish. Just like to keep my options open.

Thanks
Brian

Heres the clubs website: http://www.pmasi.org

Other than elmers and wet pets the next closest are aquaworld and Dave's aquastock. Both have a better selection of corals than the other two IMO. I'm partial to Dave's due to their drygoods being cheaper than most online places when you factor shipping in and I think he's got nicer corals. That's just my opinion tho. The website has a sponsor section to check out the places I mentioned. There will be a new lfs, Saltwater Sanctuary, in canonsburg that is supposed to open soon.

Welcome back.

Thank You for the welcome and info.. Are there any local people who sell frags from tanks? I am thinking that may be a way to get some corals in the tank on a budget right now so I can save you for some larger corals.

There are people around. It may depend on what you consider local tho. If you register at the pmasi website you can view the buy/sell/trade forums. There are several threads in there. You can also look on craigslist.

PMAS meetings have raffles at each meeting (corals, and supplies). The Jan meeting is always a fragging workshop. You can fill your tank up with corals after that meeting if you want to wait that long. The club also sponsors trips to local frag swaps.
