backdrops

I cant find a good backing for my tank and I have no idea where to look. my tank is 2' tall and that makes my choices even worse. can someone please help me and tell me a good place to find a wide variety od backdrops to put on the back outside of the tank

I've seen some tanks painted on the outside of the back wall which can give a nice effect, typically a dark color (blue). You can even get creative and spray it lighter in the center and gradually darken up toward the edges to create an illusion of depth.

I used to use those plastic backgrounds, but they always looked like crap. On my last 3 tanks, I got a can of cheap spray paint from walmart (usually a darker blue color) and painted the back of the tank. Always comes out great, no plastic to fight with and if I don't like it after a while I can use a razor to remove it and repaint, etc.

If you still have your heart set on plastic ones, most petco and petsart stores carry different ones that you can buy by the foot. Also pretty much any LFS usually carries them too.

Any fish store including Petco or Pet Mart are going to have a selection of backdrops to choose from. I think all of them are a standard size and you're probably going to have a bit of a problem with the height of your tank if you want to backdrop to go all the way to the bottom.

I've seen some online too. Don't have any URLs, but you can probably do a google to find them. (might have different heights online too).

I used to use backdrops, but prefer painting the back now too. Personally, I prefer to paint the back black, but blue also looks nice. Maybe consider painting if you can't find a backdrop you like.

there is a background made by ocean visions that is sticky on one side and you apply it like window tinting... it ends up looking like a flawless paint job if you do it right. just in solid colors, i don't know if you were looking for a picture/pattern... capitol aquarium sells it for $4/ft. i have the black on my 55g and i love it.
