background ideas needed

OK, my tank is 8 ft long 4 ft deep, normally I would paint black and be done, but this tank is a bit different. It has about 5 ft of the length backed by a wall (not viewable from other side) and the remaining 3 feet will be viewable from all sides - dont really want to see a dividing line where the wall comes in, so was thinking maybe a window tint or some other transitioning from clear to black in about a foot (with a medium light blue background for the fade to black or navy blue)

Anyone got any thoughts on what this might look like (be honest if you think it will look like hell, tell me)

I dont like the idea of a transition. What I would do is cover the back of the tank with rockstacks. Lets say the left side is covered by the wall, start furtherst out form the back of the tank, to the front with rock. Have it slowly start angling in towards the tank wall, stopping where the wall stops. Then the side that is viewable after the wall, will be open swimming room. You can maybe even have a rock island there to add some depth. Does that make sense? I may have explained it poorly

Thats an awesome link! I didnt even know that was around. I did foam with the back of mine also, though I left it black/grey. My LR is black/grey anyhow. Mines not nearly as nice as most, but heres a pic (of the left side at least).
