Bacterial infection?

I just bought a 3-4" tang off of another reefer who tore his tank down. The fish was in with a 5" sohal which was dying. A yellow tang who was picking on the sohal.

After the 2nd day in my 55 gallon qt the fish has severe fin rot on the tail fin only (other fins are fine).

The fish isn't really eating, only picking at culpea. It is hiding and I think is stressed.

I set up a UV on the qt last night.
Any advice on how to treat the fish? Should I just wait to see if the condition changes?

Is the tank you have him in well established? Antibiotics can do some damage to the biological filtration. If it were me I would do LARGE water changes a couple times a week making sure I am keeping the water quality excellent and just see what happens. If the fish gets worse or stops eating completly then I would consider using something. I like Seachems products so I would call Seachem Tech support and ask for their advice. They have a couple antibiotic treatments.
