bacterial infection??

i am starting to think what i thought was ich is a batcerial infection. the garlic is having no effect and the specs are turning into white blotches. the fishes behavior is changing. any advice?

some pics. all the fish seem to have the same thing, but the black one is easier to photograph and the blotches show up better against the black.

ok, is that skin pitting, or growhs? if growths, you have ich it looks like...pits, might be Hole in the head or flukes. Someone else might see something else.

it is growths. in person the spots look bigger that ich. do ich cluster??? the garlic is not phasing them. i have been checking temps and PH AM and PM. the temps 76.4 & 78.8 and the PH is 8.24 and 8.3

also i feed once a day emrald entre frozen soaked in reef plus and garlic gaurd with additional fresh minced garlic.

That last pic of your engineer goby is sad. I used to have 1 he was huge & you know he don't feel good when he's laying like that. Feed them 2 or 3 times aday if you can. Sorry your going through this. It sux I been there.

thanks for the compassion. the engineers are my favorite fish. even at $7 they have so much personality. the pic is also worse than it looks. he is scratching vs. dead. going to feed now.

These look bad enough I would try using Herbtana. It is reef safe and has worked for me in the past.

Try an omega-3 food soak and look for an antibiotic for the infection. You can also try vitamin C for tissue repair.

went to the critter, read the bottle and it said do not use with algaecides. i have been using algaefix. i am going to run carbom for a few days then give it a try and set up a QT tank as a lesson has been learned.
