Well I had an alarm on one of my Tunze 6100 Streams.. So i took both of them out and cleaned them (they had some calcium on them, but nothing real bad, so i soaked them in viniger for a bit and pulled them out, cleaned them and re-assembled them.. and to my suprise. One of the units will not turn at all any more and it just has the warning ... I really dont have the money to replace one of these....... What could have gone wrong??? WHat would it cost to get one repaired?

I usually always buy Tunze hardware... But this concerns me. I spent $950 for these and thought they would last longer than 3 years.. I always to good care of my stuff. and they never sat dry.

The main culprit is calcium, pleased double check the upper bearing, the first thread in the forum goes into a lot of detail. If the pump is dead, it could be from overheating, a power surge, locking up in a position where the sensor could not detect that the magnet was stuck, etc. If the motor is dead, you will get a discount on a replacement, we will take care of you, don't worry about it, but double check everything and use the first thread as a guide.

There is no calcium at all, they were fully dissasembled and soaked in vineger...

i tried to manually get it started and the buzzer will pause for a 1/5 turn while spinning it manually.. and then start up again..

anything else i should try??

Tried to hook it to my other power supply and it still will not power it up...

Send in the pump, include the driver box, if I can't fix it, we will work something out. Include your phone number and return address in the box.
