Bad Salt?

Take a look at the thread I just posted about RTN in some frags.

Now that I think about it, I did start to switch over from Instant Ocean to Red Sea Coral Pro right before the RTN started to happen but like other people in this thread, I don't really see anything out of the ordinary in parameters, other than slightly elevated NO3

Red Sea mixed high in Alk for me causing issues and some STN in my last tank. I actually mixed it with reef crystals to finish off my box and mitigate the issues I was having

If you keep parameters closer to NSW the regular Red Sea or even Aquaforest are good choices, along with the HW.

Sorry to hear of your issues, it's frustrating when stuff happens like that through no fault of our own.

Before you mess with peroxide or other bryopsis methods, try a few lettuce nudibranch's. My 150g had a similar outbreak that covered every inch of rock. 5 nudibranch's cleared it our in less than a week. It's amazing what the can eat, and they go after the roots too!

I also use RC and what I have notice is the salt elements separate over time and will cause such issues. To reduce separation I usually shake the bag I'm using and I mix to 1.024 and test Alk before I mix any higher salinity.
