well i just got my baffles today and they are now siliconed in!! i just turned 14 and i must say i am suprised at myself how well it actually looks!! the i got every bead of silicone almost perfect except for on one side of one of them.. i think i should silicone for AGA when i get older lol.. anyway just thought i would update everyone..

im moving my old aquarium this weekend and moving the new one over then putting the water in to start the cycle!! ill probably start getting water tomorow.. my LFS sells RO/DI water for 50c a gallon and im just getting it from him.. i will only be able to get so much water into the truck so we will probably have to make a few trips..

just thought i would update!!

Like chest hair, silicone baffling experience doesn't usually develop until 15...you're ahead of the curve! =)

hahaha.. o guess im ahead on chest hair as well... seems as my skills as well as appearance are developing early.. i am also 6'3" already :) so i guess im all around just whatever lol.. everyone does think i am 15 or 16 though.. maybe ive been lied to my whole life and i am really that old!! lol jk

If your silicone has rought edges, wait untill it dries then take a razor and run along the edge then use the same razor to remove the rought edge up to the first cut. It will clean any nasty mess.

ok thanks i will keep that in mind.. i just looked at it and it all looks smooth! im pretty happy with the results... do you think the silicone will be enough to hold the baffle that is 2 inches from the bottom? i had 2"pvc spacers just to hold it while it was drying.. could i just leave them there just for added comfort to make sure it doesnt fall down? or will they restrict flow too much

On all of the sumps I made I took the spacers out. The silicone will hold the glass up on its own after 24 hours. The silicone will hold the glass just the same way the tank is held together. Make sure the joints look at least as thick as the corners of your tank and all will be good.
