Ball growing on fish

Any idea why he is getting a ball coming out of his side. He has been in the tank for over a year. Been 6 months since any fish have been added, the ones added came from another home aquarium.

Are you referring to the protrusion in his swim bladder area? Could be a gas bubble forming in there...

That's right by the swim bladder. Just to be sure, is the fish still pooping normally?

You know I am not sure. I need to watch and tell my wife and daughter to keep an eye on him. He is eating fine still.

Simple constipation needs to be ruled out first before considering more serious issues. Since he's eating fine, try feeding him some peeled boiled green peas (high in fiber) to help push things out.
