ballastwise.com ballasts??

can anybody give me any first hand info on these ballasts? i am thinking of ordering them, but i would like to talk to someone who has used em before i buy them.
 
theyseem to be a great buy... im interested to see how loud they are, and how hot. do i need boxes for them, or can i just mount em to the stand or something
 
I've used the T5 programmed start ballasts. They are okay.

The gotcha though is the high shipping costs. There is no price breaks on shipping when ordering more than one ballast.
 
I have a T5 ballast from Ballast Wise. Haven't hooked it up yet.

Planning on mounting it to a plywood board along with my other ballast. I like the small footprint on this ballast.

I went to my local Blubs Unlimited Store and purchase a workhorse 7 ballast. It cost me $55.00. I was going to order from ballastwise, but the local call and time savings was worth it to me. I am added 2 T5 blubs to my existing system.
 
I had 2 175 SE's running on ballastwise ballasts. They were just as good as my icecap 250s in terms of heat and noise (no noise, warm after 8 hours of running but not hot). They worked very well.
 
I have two of the 150w MH electronic ballast, running 20k HQI bulbs no noise and the operating temp marked on the ballast is 156 degrees. I just sit them both on a brick to act as a ceramic heat sink. No problems and when its time to upgrade those are the ballast im going with, not to mention the prices with shipping included.

thats what i wanted to hear...
when do you plan to upgrade? im in the market for 2 of those ballasts
 
Waiting to get my basement completed and there is no rush on it. but the good news is delievered to my door shipping included was around $111 for both. Im in CT and they were shipped from CA.
 
I am running 2 instant start t-5 HO ballasts and they are silent and have worked great for 6 months so far. They are a great buy and I would buy them again.
