just installed today 3/4in natral oak hardwood in the dining room where the tank will be going

do to bulkhead placeing had to chage the plan abit with new mods to stand not as much room as i wanted to work on maintance so
i have decided not to put the sump under the tank but instead behind it in my spare bedroom 9'x11.5' fishroom now with walk-in closet parts storage-devil

this happen today while i was at work front pane cracked on my 300gal starphire reef this really s*&@s this is horrible thank god for my wife being home she saved the fish dont have any clue why it cracked nothing hit it it cracked where my tunze powerhead was flowing could this have been caused by the ???

It looks like your problem was in your stand bro. I noticed in one of your earlier pictures in this thread that your stand had a flaw. In the front left corner. Your support 2x4 wasn't even touching the top rail. Screws alone are not enough to hold this much weight. All of your joints have to be tight. Having only one support leg in the center didn't help matters either.

Sorry about your loss on your tank. Did your new floor get damaged as well?

We all at RC would like to thank bananaboat's wife for NOT killing him lol. I think you need to make that stand a little taller, too. It didnt look like there was ANY clearance to get that skimmer out of the sump, with the stand. But the angle might have been off. Sorry about what happened.
