I recently introduced a banded coral shrimp into my nano reef (20 long). I just watched him nab a large bristle worm out of some LR, which i understand is one of their expertise's (It was really cool!!
). Anyway i know bristle worms are helpful for reefs because they eat detritus.. but are they an essential component or are they somewhat expendable?? Hes pretty large, his body is about two inches long so i imagine he has quite an apetite. Should i supplement his diet with anything???
On a side note I noticed some very small creatures on the glass, about 1 mm in diameter. They are white and appear the have a spiral shaped shell with what looks like a very small feather duster coming out of the side. Are these a type of pod or possibly snail larvae?? (i tried to get a pic put they are very small and i was unable to get the camera to focus correctly)
Thanks!
