My male has been carrying for over 3 weeks so tonight was the night to get him out of my 180 and put him in my fuge. 1 baby is out of his mouth doin fine but he is holding the others. not sure i want to let him realease the others overnight for fear he will eat them. should i force the others out or let him do it on his own? What is the easiest and safest way to get him to realease them. I,m ready to go with the baby brine. thanks in advance for any fast response. Mike

decided to scoop the dad into a net. let him swim in the net pressed up against the glass and that did the trick , he spit all of them 15 or so out! dad is back in the 180, man he must be hungry! gotta love this hobby!

Congrats!! I hit 3 weeks on tues and am soo exited to get mine. I have a question for you, because i have been sitting by the tank every day trying to get a look at the eggs to see the stages of development. I can definately see that the eyes are developed, but the eggs still look like they are a pink color. I would have thought that by now I would be able to see black and white or at least white markings. Did you happen to notice it that took place with your eggs? when did you notice them changing colors etc... I am on day 19 and all I see is like a creamy pink color with eyes in the eggs inside of his mouth. Trying to figure out if this is normal or if I should be expecting hatch later than our 3 week mark. This is the second time he has been prego and the 1st time he only held for a few days (beginner i suppose).

Thanks . It's been a fun day taking care of them. my son is lovin it! I never could see the eggs in his mouth. I started seeing the babies thurs night so i knew this weekend had to be the time . I was home all day watching football and have given them bbs about 5 times. All 12 are are together and are trying to eat anything that comes their way. Can't believe how aggressive they are already. This was his first successful hatch. He had carried eggs a few times before .
