Banggai cardinal question

My banggai cardinals have spawned and are holding their first clutch of babies. I don't intend to try and raise the babies (at this point) but am wondering if there is anything I can/should to do make sure they don't over-spawn in the future? Do I need to separate them periodically, or will they naturally regulate their spawning cycle?

Thanks

Oh, and here's a pic of the expecting couple:

I agree with Steve. Sometimes the fry just make it on their own with no effort.
What do you consider over-spawning? We have a pair that's on it's first batch right now (probably a few more days, but not sure if they'll make it). However, our last pair was doing 9 or 10 batches per year. The male would eat like crazy for two or three days, and then have a mouth full of eggs again.

Thanks for the info everyone! Would be cool if a couple of the little guys manage to make it on their own.

As for over-spawning, I have no idea. I had just read elsewhere that you shouldn't let them breed to frequently, but I couldn't find what too frequently was. I'll just let them be.

Thanks!
