Hi! I just purchased 3 banghaiis Friday for my 90g reef...I am trying to establish a pair...there is one large fish and two smaller ones, they have already "sorta" paired up, the large one, and one smaller, will the "odd man out" get tormented to death, or will he be able to survive in a 90g??

I don't have another tank, and don't really want to take it back to the LFS, they won't even give store credit...If it will be able to protect itself, and live peacefully, I will gladly keep it, I am really enjoying wathcing them all swim around!

Thanks!!
Marie

Hi Marie,

My advice would be to watch them like a hawk any signs of 1 of them being segregated and hanging near the surface take it back to your LFS or it will end up with ripped fins, then they won't take it back. This will be shortly followed by exhaustion and death.

There and again you might be ok that's the magic of Banggais's.
HTH.

If you have a current pair, and an odd man out, in all likely hood, if the odd man out is male, then yes, probably won't make it long. Stress alone will do him in. If it's female though, hit or miss. Watch closely for then darkening up too much, stressing out and all. Or acting as mokarran mentioned, take em back or find him another home.
