Now that that is out of the way you must fill out a breeding report and submit 6 young as proof that you sucessfully bred the species in question.
For each species that is turned in you get a certificate and for each class you complete you get a plaque. I have recieved 3 plaques so far and will have another 4 by years end if not sooner. You also have catagories of Breeder starting at
1 star 100 points and 1 completed class
2 star 200 points and 2 completed classes
3 star 300 points and 3 completed classes
4 star 400 points and 7 completed classes
Master Breeder 600 points and 10 completed classes
Grand Master Breeder - Completion of all classes
There are also a number of 20 point species requirements and 40 point species requirements. There are also specialist titles in each class. I have attained Advanced Breeder in Anabantoids and Livebearers.
Points are based upon committee review of how hard something is to breed and each class has targets that are worth 40 pts.
Point structures
5 points - Easy,
10 points - Moderate
15 points - Moderate
20 points - Difficult
40 points - Way Difficult
All marine fish are listed as 40 point fish. I know this is truely not the case but we have never had marine people sit down and compare the levels to determine where the difficulty factors lay. I certainly would not make any marine fish less then 20 points. There are no marine fish like SW guppies (yes I know you can make guppies SW but they are not marine fish).
